Hi
I have a solar panel kit for sale that will work with the K2 battery. It =
must be connected directly to the battery so you will need to install a =
connector on the K2 and wire it to the battery through a fuse. The =
controller is a switch that connects the solar panel directly to the =
battery through a power FET until the battery voltage reaches 14.0 =
volts. Then it turns off the panel for a rest period and waits for the =
battery to drop about 100 mV before it turns back on. The result is a =
pulse width modulated charging current with about a 4 second repetition =
rate. This controller works similar to the MicroM+ controller that was =
in QST about a couple of years ago although the circuit and IC I use is =
completely different. It does not generate any RF noise and will work =
with a panel size from 3 to 200 watts and any size SLA or wet cell =
battery of either 12 or 6 volts. The circuit board is 2X3 inches and the =
kit has all the parts needed to build the controller. I have =
instructions and application notes in the kit. The kit is $30 check or =
money order.=20

Anyone have a source for a solar panel controller for the K2 battery? =
2.9Ah.
Powersonic recommends not more than 580mA. I have one which puts out =
4.5A!
Glad I found that soon enough.
