Did you look at the "HF Packer-Amp" project here?

While no first-hand experience, I've thought about something like this. 
There are also several other projects listed here, including a nifty 12vdc 
SLA battery supply complete with charger.

Hi Gang,
   My Elecraft K2 is capable of about 10 watts  on most bands, bust rarely
going above 5 watts  on CW.

I've been thinking about building a small RF amplifier - probably in the
neighborhood of 25 watts or so, just to have in case I'm have a bit of
trouble being heard. (Actually, what I really need is a more efficient
antenna, but that's a project for another day!)

I'm not inclined to go with the 100 watt K2 at this point in time, as I
really do work qrp 99% of the time.  I was hoping that someone might point
me in the direction of a solution.
