Yesterday I built a KRC2 band decoder and discovered another use for the
Hakko 808...There are 10 screw terminal connectors inside the KRC2 and
they each have 4 heavy pins that have heavy screw terminals on the top of
the board...These terminals are big heat sinks and it takes more than a
few seconds to obtain a solder flow...The 1mm nozzle on the Hakko fits
perfectly over these pins...Place the nozzle over the pin until it
touches the circuit board then touch the solder to the tip of the
nozzle...Presto, a perfectly soldered pin in an instant...Don't pull the
trigger!...
