This reminds me of something I have been thinking about for awhile.  I have
been wondering if the KPA100 can be optimized for 50 watts, similar to the 5
watt mod for the K2. I know that I can turn down the power level to 50
watts, but I assume that the  effiency suffers, just like the K2.  I use
battery power in my shack and I think I can live with 3db less power and
still keep up with QRO stations when the going gets rough.  Maybe this would
also eliminate the need for the fan?                                73  -
