Before this thread gets extra long in the tooth again I would like to put in
my two cents worth. The present K2 knob has a heavy feel to me, and the knob
has a sharp feel to the touch. A dimple may help, but this doesn't eliminate
the heaviness and sharp feel of the circumference. The FT100 knob is light to
the touch and has a good feel. I imagine the FT900 knob also has a good
feel. I also put a Kenwood TS 850 carrying handle on the right side panel. The
handle is exactly the same color as the K2 and really looks good. And yes, you
can put the handle on with the KPA100 installed, but you have to be careful
where the chrome handle escutcheon screws are installed. The bolts (I used
locking nuts) must be clear of all internal parts. The screws furnished by Kenwood
are not quite long enough for this installation, but I found good
replacements at the hardware store. Roy Morris W4WFB K2/100 #2225
