[Elecraft] Control Board and KAT100 Mods

Ladies and Gents....
 
I am confused, but that is my natural state so do worry about it.  I have a Revision A control board for my K2/100.  I am in the process of installing the 820 ohm resistor between R8 and R9.  That I do understand.
 
The next step in the errata sheet says to remove C44 a .1 uf cap from the control board.  It says it is near U1 on Revision B board.  Or, on earlier control boards, C44 is not on the board mut may have been solder across R7.
 
There is nothing across R7 and the only cap on the bottom of the board that was tacked on was for the KIO2 interface.
 
So, did I miss something a year or so ago by NOT putting in C44 on my Revision A board?  What did C44 do?  It is not on my control board at all.
