Unfortunately, Jerry, for my KX1 kit, and for others like Brian as well, the parts
list and Addendum describes one of the capacitors as a "pillow" capacitor (I assume
they are referring to the shape) and the photo shows what appears to be a large
epoxy-dipped capacitor. The kit contains a medium-sized ceramic disc.
As Ron, AC7AC, correctly states, it shouldn't be a problem if you mix them up
electrically. With the continued emphasis on component height in the KX1, I took a
few minutes to figure out which cap was supposed to be which, since there is a
discrepancy in component size and the placement suggested to me the smaller (but
"incorrect" cap) would go in the location with the smallest amount of space. For a
first-time builder I can see it being quite confusing.
So, if it really doesn't matter, maybe the e-Crew could simply use the same type of
cap for both and avoid all the confusion?
