[Elecraft] G5RV advice...

My current antenna cost me $7.00. 125 feet of speaker wire split in half and
100 foot roll of low loss TV twinlead. It has been up there for about 5
years.

Actually I think the ones that I've made are pretty darn good.
And much more economical - find 102' of wire, a couple of short
pieces of 1/2" PVC for the insulators, 28' 300 ohm twin lead
from Radio Shack -or where ever - and some coax.  And some good
black tape!

and work pretty darn well!

I've seen G5RV kits for around $33 from the Wireman. He even
throws in 100 ft of rope.  The Wireman has good stuff if you
can't find all the parts in your shack or in any of the local
hams shacks!
