Rich, I had similar problems. It was in the muting circuit. The Q7
transistor collector leakage current was too high keeping the FETs turned off.
As a test, solder a wire to the Q7 collector and see where it is sitting
when the circuit is powered on. It needs to be at 5V for the FETs to be on.
If the voltage is less than 5 volts, place a 10K ohm resistor in parallel
with R14 ( 1 meg). This should bias the FETs on when Q7 is off. Also, make
sure that C8 is not shorted by solder.

Well the newest K2 is done, SSB model, NB and 160 filter. Think I will take
a break for a couple days before I start the 100 watt PA. Just finished the
DSP and when I installed it I have NO audio at all.
I turned the RTC on and not a thing. I plugged in the audio filter and it
works fine.
I checked my solder joints and placement/orientation and all is good.
I would assume these things are hard to diagnose.
