[Elecraft] K2 LCD Errata

I am at the point of mounting the diffuser and the LCD and have read carefully the ERRATA REV. E-6 Nov. 14 , 2003 and understand that the front protective film is to be removed at a later step.  My question is with the back of the LCD , which appears to all white on mine.  I not sure where the gray lines come in to this , but I'm not sure whether to remove this white looking covering or to leave it.  This is hardly a faintly visible yellow or gray diagonal line covering as indicated on the ERRATA.  Thanks for anyones help.
