Richard,
I doubt if anyone on this reflector will try to 'talk you out of building a
K2'. The receiver on the K2 is indeed impressive if detection of low level
signals is high on your list. With the KIO2 installed, remote control is
quite easy to achieve. I am not familiar with TRX Manager, but I do know
that the N4PY software adds a lot of function to the K2 remote operation.
The K2 noise blanker is good on impulse noise, but powerline noise is
usually not impulse type. The KDSP2 can do a good job with the powerline
noise if set correctly for that task.
