[Elecraft] New K2 kit

Good advice from Don below...
I used the same material that the IC's were shipped on as my temporary foam
holders. I'd read the manual ahead about two or three pages, pull all the
needed components from my plastic storage bins, clean and bend the leads,
and stick 'em in the conductive foam until needed. Everything got checked
twice this way.
It may have taken longer, but there were no mis-identified parts, and every
board worked the first time. Your mileage may vary...

Folks,

Be careful using polystrene foam - it can generate static - do NOT use it
for any static sensitive devices. It is OK for capacitors, inductors and
such, but not for active components.

Yes, as has been mentioned, if you receive a strip of resistors, leave them
in the strip - they are arranged in assembly order (you just have to
discover which end is the start).

Re. the thread about using corrugated cardboard to sort resistors and
capacitors. When building my K2 and KX1 i used a slab of expanded
polystryene foam packing material, I marked out areas for each value of
capacitor with a felt tip marker and stuck the leads of the caps into the
foam. I found this gave easy access to the items and I could see instantly
how many of each value were left to be installed.
