[Elecraft] KX1 external keying line

Greetings:

Somewhere in the mail system is a KX1 on its way here.  After just over 
50 years I have the same feelings as when I ordered my first Heathkit 
AR3, this is going to be fun!  I am very pleased to see the SMD stuff is 
already glued in place - these thick stiff fingers can do without that 
kind of agony...

As I study the connections to/from the PIC I am wondering which one 
should I bring to the outside so that it can switch the "boots" for the 
KX1 in and out?  If someone knows which line to use, might you also know 
the timing associated with the on/off delays that might be included on 
the line recommended?

Secondly, for mobile es portable operation I sure would like to use the 
KX1 in "bug" mode, that is manual dashes and automatic dots.  Has anyone 
identified the lines where one might add in a diode or two on the output 
side of the PIC so one can "insert" manual dashes?  (The factory has 
already informed me they do not see including "bug" mode in any future 
software revisions.)
