if you view the cover in pdf and you alt-tab to something that covers it (a
browser, for example), and alt-tab back to it, and watch, you can see that the
image is actually not just as you see on the page, but is actually composed of
2 images, one which is a layer with the inside 6 batteries in green, and the
outside layer which draws over the inside layer to produce what you see on the
cover in print.  Interesting.
