[Elecraft] KAT2 - C55 settings

I was working with a fellow ham this last weekend and we were getting different
SWR readings between his recently calibrated (by MFJ) 259 and my K2 with KAT2.
I think my error lies in originally setting C55. I guess I didn't quite
understand how to read the display when the instructions were suggesting
mid-range, and closest to 000.
I just want someone to confirm with me that I've done it right this time. It
seems to me that as I adjust C55 the value on the display is only showing the
last two digits of a three digit number that starts around 256, bottoms out
near the middle, and then rises back up to 256 before HI is displayed on the
other side (but you never see the hundreds digit). Here's how I think it would
chart...
Actual value - Displayed Value
>256 - HI
256 - 056
200 - 000
199 - 099
150 - 050
100 - 000
099 - 099
050 - 050
010 - 010
000 - 000
Last year I placed more emphasis on getting a value of 000 instead of getting a
value in the 'mid-range', and set C55 near one of the 100 or 200 settings (not
mid-range) in an attempt to get 000 (I don't think I noticed the mid-range last
year). Last night I recalibrated KAT2, and could only get C55 to show a value
as low as 007-010 in the mid-range (using the DL-1).
Now, when I set up the K2 in the car with my hamstick, it shows a completely
different resonance point on my hamstick antenna. Should this be expected if
C55 was mis-calibrated?
If I have it set right now, it might not be a bad idea to adjust the KAT2
instructions, maybe even with a graph, that shows how the C55 setting and
display interact, and what is meant by mid-range, and that you may not get a
value of 000 in the mid-range.
Looking forward to any words of wisdom on this...
Thanks and 73,
