I use an antistatic pad on the bench with the wrist strap connected to =
it.
That way, the cord to the wrist strap isn't in the way (it connects at =
the
side nearest the edge of the bench) and things say grounded on the pad. =
It's
also a nice soft pad to keep small bits from wandering off. The wrist =
strap
had velcro and a simple snap so the ground can be removed when I walk =
away
(and then I'm at the store and see people staring at the funny thing I'm
wearing on my wrist...but that's another story...).=20

The pad is about 10 by 18 inches - easy to roll up and put away when I =
work
on some huge vacuum tube thing that wouldn't care if I attacked it with =
a
Van De Graaf generator.=20
