What I would add to the list of what others have posted is cutters that 
make a flush cut.
This is a good idea as it is important to leave very little lead 
protruding due to the
tight space requirement. I would also suggest de-soldering braid and 
possibly a solder
sucker in the event that you need to remove a component and a small 
plastic ruler
to measure component height.

The temp controlled Solder Station is a good idea especially if you 
plan to build a lot of kits,
but a decent pencil soldering iron with a good tip will do the job.

P.S. I am just finishing up the TX on my KX1 and having built a K1 last 
fall I can say that the
KX1 is really no more difficult to build, except you need to take extra 
care to ensure that mounted
components don't exceed the 7.9mm max height  (there are lots of 
warnings in the manual).
