[Elecraft] KPA100 I/O tether question

I'm not Elecraft, but I will attempt an answer --
The KPA100 itself is linked to the K2 with its firmware (via the auxbus) to
do such things as band switching and maintaining the proper power level, so
that tether must be in place for normal operation.

With some switches and other controls, one might modify the guts of the
KPA100 amplifier to operate as a standalone (without its firmware), but it
may be easier to just start from scratch.
