Lyle Johnson and I helped to build four spacecraft with 6 layer boards for
spacecraft to fit a large memory ram disk into the first four Microsats.
Lyle did the design, I managed the build of the computer at a fairly
untested board house who were itching to try their new 6 layer layout
process in 1989 and Harold Price NK6K wrote most of the software, I wrote
the rest.
We had so many jumper blue wires on those computer boards (the joke at
the Qualcomm check out lab was "Some Assembly Required") that I thought it
would be a miracle if they survived the ride to space.
There were wires to 20 mil pitch leads on SM chips all over the place.
If that could survive a few blew wires, I am not too worried about anything
you are likely to do to a solder joint if the wire is placed and routed
properly.
