Johnny,

The BFO settings shown in the SSB manual are first approximations for
placing the BFO properly for demodulation of SSB. I highly recommend that
you fine tune the BFOs using a noise generator and Spectrogram after you
have everything up and running. For additional information about how to
accomplish that, check my website www.qsl.net/w3fpr article on K2 Dial
Calibration - the filter alignment is in 'Step 3'.

You are free to set the filter bandwidths for both SSB and CW for your
personal preferences. Those listed in the SSB manual are one set of
suggestions. I use OP1, 1.8, 1.75, 1.5 for SSB and 1.2, 750, 400, and 100
for CW.

BE AWARE - the FL1 BFO setting are used for transmit - you may have to alter
these setting to optimize the transmit signal for your particular voice
audio range.

I now have another question. On page 20 of the KSB2 manual, Table 3 gives
the suggested SSB /CW filter and BFO settings. My matched SSB filter
crystals gives a calibration number of 3.7. Accordingly, FL1 OPl should be
4913.6 for LSB and 4916.3 for USB.

Why is FL2 also OP1 and not FL2 2.00?

Why in CW mode, the setting of FL2 is the same as FL3 on table 3?

In SSB mode, how can I set FL4 at 1.60?
