Many of us who have the older version RF boards had to switch C71 (82 Pfd)
with C70 (4.7 Pfd) to eliminate the worble (WAOF) on certain frequencies in the
40 meter band. The instructions in the K60XV manual says to change out the 82
Pfd cap at C71 to a 120 Pfd cap. I had switched the original caps which
cleaned up the worble. Even though these caps are in parallel, the mere placement
on the board caused interaction with one or more of the varactor diodes.
Since the instructions said to change C71 to 120 Pfd, I put this new cap in C71
and replaced C70 with the 4.7 Pfd. I have not fired up the K2 on 40 meters yet
since I am at the alignment phase. I hope the worble will not return since I
put the 4.7 Pfd back into its original location. We'll soon see. Roy
