Hmm, interesting your reply. And agree with most of your arguments. I will
reply as a whole, not in details.

Heathkit was the largest production kit manufaturer known -at least for me-,
not only in amateur products but any kind of electronic set. It was a nice
representative for amateur home builders in a vast  period of time.

Elecraft is a modern kit manufacturer, with few kit in producton and clearly
biased to the amateur radio hobbiest. They are doing very find indeed. But
also TenTec and Oak Hills Research, for example. They met the quality you
are looking for.

There is simply no comparison at this time between both of them because the
old Heathkit is no longer in production. If they still were in market, they
will have improved the kit production line accordingly nowadays.

My reply could be sound very loud. My apolgizes for that; it was not my
intention. But it is annoying to claim such kind of affirmation in a post
without name elements to compare, kit producers in this case.
