The "F" version of the MCU chips are reprogrammable while the "C" =
version is not (onetime program) Currently the MCU is a 18C452 not =
reprogrammable and the I/O controller 16F872 is reprogrammable

Subject: [Elecraft] Firmware and IOP Reprogrammable?
I'm thinking about ordering the Keying Waveshape upgrade
and it occurred to me that it might be possible to reprogram
the old Microcontrollers? If so, perhaps Elecraft or=20
a subcontractor could offer such a service, rather than=20
requiring purchase of new chips to get new firmware.
So the question is are these chips reprogrammable or=20
one-time-programmable?
Thanks,
John, KB1NO s/n 0157
