The real question here, I think, is:  Will the KX1 controller
firmware inhibit transmission when the DDS is tuned outside
the ham bands?

I'd prefer to have *no* such firmware limitation, at least on
units sold in countries that don't require such limits.  Use the
limited controller programming space for useful features instead.

And no, I can't claim that outside band transmit capability
would be useful for U.S. Military Affiliate Radio System use,
since MARS BANNED ALL CW use for ANY purpose several years ago.
