[Elecraft] new product idea: phasing unit

As a long-time user of the ANC-4, I have found that although the theory is
sound and everything sounds good when you say it fast, all of these phase
cancellation units rely upon one basic premise: that you can manage to
obtain mostly the desired noise or interfering signal on one antenna but
with a minimum of the desired signal(s). This is not easy to do!
I find that the ANC-4 makes an excellent active antenna when using its noise
sense antenna alone. I have tried about every antenna configuration you can
imagine seeking to pick up noise but not signal - tough job. It is hard to
explain to any antenna that it is supposed to hear noise and not signal.
So, to the extent that you can achieve that goal, the phase cancellation
units do a fair to great job, depending upon the noise, etc. The ANC-4 will
sometimes reduce S8 noise to S0. Other times it seems to have no effect at
all.
But, they are worth a try when everything else fails.
