[Elecraft] My new amp hook-up?

Jack seems to have it correct, but I will add one more thing - if what you
want to do is switch between two antennas at the output of the amplifier, a
DPDT switch or relay will perform this task with ease. Each antenna
connects to one of the switch common terminals, and one switch pole connects
to the KAT100 Ant 1, while the other pole is connected to the amplifier
output. The NO contacts of each pole on the switch are connected to the NC
contacts of the other pole (like a 4 way switch used for house wiring). The
amplifier input is connected to KAT100 Ant 2.

With this type connection, the both the KAT100 antenna 1 output and the
amplifier will always have an antenna connected - when using the amp, switch
the KAT100 output to ANT2 and move the DPDT switch to the position needed to
connect the desired antenna to the amplifier.

Sorry, but I don't know of a commercially available switch that will do this
job. I do have one implemented with a big ceramic rotary switch with
silvered contacts taken from some WWII military surplus gear - perhaps you
could find something similar at a hamfest.

| I don't think so. You would end up with the vertical still connected
| to the amplifier, but now the amplifier and dipole have switched
| positions on the KAT100.
|
| The most inexpensive way to do the switching is to add a manual antenna
| switch on the output of the amplifier, and place the amp in standby
| mode when you want to run lower power.
