[Elecraft] demonic K2

Hello Elephiles everywhere.  I'm Merlin W3ICT, the guy with the demonic K2 a 
few weeks back .  This was the radio that arbitrarily, while sitting all by 
itself,  would start changing bands, modes, etc.  Has anybody else had this 
happen?  Well, not to worry, problem solved.  

The culprit is U2 (the CMOS chip, not the airplane) on the front panel board. 
 That's the chip that is the interface between the pushbuttons and the 
control board.  I found it by spraying it with cooling liquid.  

After the lovely experience of removing the old chip, the new one fixes 
EVERYTHING.  I mean, this radio was in trouble. After a while, it no longer 
responded to pressing anything on the front panel.  ALL BETTER.  

By the way, has anybody else out there had difficulty explaining to other 
hams, particularly ones with diminished hearing that Elecraft (when it's 
pronounced correctly with all three syllables) ain't the same as Hallicrafters?  I 
can't tell you how many guys have responded saying,  "Oh yeah, I know 
Hallicrafters.  They made great rigs"  Just curious.
