[Elecraft] Filter confusion, K2

Hi All,

I have a specific question and a more general question regarding
filters.

First, I have installed the DSP option in my K2. When I select XFIL, the
bandwith now says 0.00. Is this supposed to be, or did I mess something
up, and if so how do I fix it?

Second, I wonder if one of our members could offer a short comment or
two on the relationship among the various filters available,
specifically the relationship between XFIL, AFIL, the DSP selected
filters, and the filters on the SSB board. I don't understand how they
interact. Does a DSP filter further filter an XFIL filter? I know that
DSP is at the AF stage, as is AFIL, but is DSP active when AFIL filters
are active? I guess these are pretty dopey questions, but I confess to
confusion.

BTW K2/100 s/n 3548 is now on the air. My thanks to the members who
helped me over the rough spots. Final testing and construction were
stymied for a couple of weeks by a particularly interesting problem: an
interaction between the speaker magnet on the KPA100 option and one of
the relays on the RF board preventing LPF band switching and consequent
severe signal attenuation on some bands, and then only when the KPA100
option was installed. A mu metal shield and new relay finally fixed
things. Learned a lot. thanks, Gary!

Thanks.
