The RS 22-510 appears to be the same unit as the Samlex 1223. I have one
of the latter, and it is excellent and very quiet, even using a wire feed
directly to the K2 passing nearby. Others on this reflector, however, have
complained about hash from these units. I would guess, therefore, that
there are different units, perhaps even made by different manufacturers.
If you want to get this unit, I would suggest you take your Yacht Boy or
similar short-wave radio along and try it in the store before buying. If
it is quiet, you will find it to be very suitable for the K2/100. The
price is super, but I think you can get the Samlex from HRO for not a heck
of a lot more -- at least you used to be able to.
