[Elecraft] Contesting with a k2

I'm not a contester by any means, but I run SPLIT mode ALL of the time. It
just makes more sense for me to be able to forget RIT/XIT and use the main
tuning knob all of the time without worrying about changing my transmit
frequency unintentionally or forgetting and leaving XIT/RIT enabled when I
go to another contact.

When I find a frequency I want to transmit on, all I have to do is poke A=B
briefly to bring the "transmitter VFO" onto the Rx frequency, then I'm free
to tune around to my heart's content using the main tuning knob without
disturbing the xmit frequency.

When working Split with a DX station I can easily "peek" at my xmit
frequency by pressing A/B. The trick is to NOT tap it, but HOLD it. By
pressing/holding it, the Rx jumps back to my original Rx frequency when I
let go.
