[Elecraft] Contest rig suggestions

Given that fact that the K2 will not anytime soon, if ever be
given dual receive capability, I would appreciate hearing
suggestions as to which dual receive rig gives the most
performance for $ spent. I suspect that I should be looking
for an ft1000mp or a ft1000mp MKV, but would appreciate
hearing from others who have had experience with these
rigs and or the TS950sd or TS950sdx.

Before anyone comes back with stories of the K2's contesting
exploits, I know that if what one wants to do is just sit
on a frequency and run (ala Team Vertical etc.) The K2 does
well, but for many if not most really competative contesting
situations, that will not cut it. Not to be able to simultaneously
monitor two frequencies on the same band, be it for working split
40 meter ssb, or for timeing a call to an off frequency multiplier
on your run band, is an unacceptable handicap, at certain levels
of competition.

I have hoped for years that my K2 (#429) would be able to grow into the
contest rig it is soo close to, yet so far from being, but have
resigned myself to the fact that that will probably never be.

I have a couple of ts940's which have the nicest qsk I have
ever used, that I will trade if someone knows of a good deal
on a 1000mp or whatever.
