[Elecraft] BFO Mod Trouble

I have been trying to find my trouble with the BFO Mod (see description =
below) and after checking my connections of the parts and checking for =
cold solder joints I decided to check the L33 toroid. Can anyone tell =
me what the resistance through L33 should be? I unsoldered on end and =
it appears that the toroid is open circuited or the resistance is so =
high my meter can not measure it. L31 measures 2.8 ohms. Anyone have =
any thoughts?
I have just installed the BFO Mod kit and have gotten to the BFO =
realignment part of the instructions. I have switched to the 40 Mtr. =
band and connected the freq. counter to TP2. When I select CAL FCTR =
from the menu, I should get 4910 to 4918 kHz. However, I do not. I get =
4920.20 fluctuating to 4920.53. The instructions indicate that with a =
flucuating frequency, I may have a bad solder connection. I have =
resoldered the connections twice with no change. Also when I check the =
frequency range I get 4920.20 to 4920.53 for the High Freq. and 3888.78 =
to 3888.12 for the Low Freq. with both fluctuating. I did install the =
12 microHenry L31 that is from the Temp.-Compensated PLL upgrade parts. =
Could this make a difference? Any hints or guidance from anyone or =
should I try resoldering the parts again. Having no trouble putting the =
K2 together and now having trouble with this simple mod, has me =
scratching my head and wondering what direction to head now. =20
