Hi, Group,
I have NO financial interest in either Hakko or Kiesub Electronics.
I bought a Hakko 808 de-soldering tool from Kiesub Tuesday. It came today,
and has already paid for itself, LITERALLY!
Keisub,
http://www.kiesub.com/hakko808.htm
has them on sale $30 cheaper than the others with free ground shipping. It
comes in a kit which includes a plastic case, clean-out wire, tools to
maintain the tool, extra filter material, and a funny looking pocket
protector with Velcro to put it in. I think I won't use the pocket
protector very often. I think it's really a tip protector! :-) PLEASE
consider buying one if you intend to do any serious building. They'll save
your bacon once a day at least. This really is a fantastic tool.
My second tip for the day is to make really sure you have the right value in
the holes when you solder the part. I had a 220 pF cap in a hole where the
schematic says 270 pF. Geeeeez, that seems close enough to me. The VFO
didn't agree. So I gave up and put the correct part in the holes after
removing the other part using my Hakko 808!
Man, do we have a solid VFO now!!!!!
I think the dissimilar metals junction in a tooth is the basis for the
surprise, too. It can draw electricity from metabolioc processes. Trouble
there is, most are asleep 80 percent of the time, so the current draw is
backwards. The earphone is easy. Where did he plug in the
paddles????????????
Have fun, all!
