Hah!  I got it!

This was too easy and too obvious, Wayne.  We need clues a little more
obtuse in the future...

If you eat too much trail mix, it will pull loose an old filling or mess up
your teeth and you have to go to the dentist (Doctor of Dental Surgery) to
get it fixed.

Now, they prevent bridges and pipelines from corroding by passing a current
through them.  If you pass 34 mA through your (dental) bridge(work), there
is an 80 per cent chance you won't have to see your dentist after eating too
much trail mix.

The new kit allows you to generate the 34 mA of current and attach it to
your teeth!

PS - I could be wrong.  Maybe it means Wayne just got a degree in
