As a sort of addendum to Gary's suggestion; couldn't one of the
programmable function buttons be drafted into service for direct
entry, rather than having to press two at once? (That's to say, can
one actually assign this feature to one of the buttons?) If not, might
be an easy way to implement this. Course, maybe not...
