As I've now seen both power level & speed readouts whilst merely changing the
RIT via remote control, I suspect what Perry saw after removing the felt was
probably coincidental.

I should add that at almost all times, my K2 is being polled for frequency by a
computer running a logging program.  Servicing that may contribute to things,
but I'd guess that not everybody who has seen the same has something
exercising the KIO.
