[Elecraft] K2 on vacation

Hi,

I have just returned from a vacation in NC and K2 #2688 accompanied me.  For
an antenna I had a 40 meter dipole up about 15 to 20 feet.    I made 12
contacts on cw and 2 on ssb in 3 days.  A couple of stateside contacts were
made on 30 meters using the 40 meter dipole receiving reports of 559 and
569.   One night on cw I worked 3 Italian stations on 5 to 10 watts.  One DX
contact on ssb was made on a regulated power supply while the remaining QSOs
were on the internal battery.  I had a brief QSO on 40 meters ssb.  It was
great!  Part of the QSO went like this...did you say you are on battery
power???  15 watts???  What kind of rig is that?

Having operated portable before I must say it was nice this time not having
to bring along a power supply or gel cell and a keyer.  I might add the
clock option next as this would be most helpful in logging contacts while
portable.
