Good Evening from the humble Net Control Op of the ECN,
When I signed the K after my net call this evening Chaos reigned. For the next hour and 23 minutes I was hopping most of the time. I know the net was rolling
along quite nicely in waves from one coast to the other. The relay stations KL7V/5, N3AO, NA7Y, and any others whom I missed in the bedlam, got quite a few
stations. And we have our first non-North American station ZL1MH from NA7Y. Bill's catch was relayed back to me through Sam. I had to ask Sam a number of
times what the first letter was (I am a home body folks :) Z just didn't sound right. I think of VE as DX :) I wish K7UP could have been here to handle the
North South relay slot. He said he'd be back on line come January when he stops working nights (and days for that matter :) The net ran on 14051 kHz from
0100z to 0223z.
The QNI list is as follows:
KL7V/5 - Sam - OK (A very big Thank You Sam.)
K4ZM - Bill - AL
W6JD - Doug - CA
W0QG - Russell - MN
NA8M - John - MI
K6SE - Earl - CA
W3JGG - Justin - FL
AA3WF - Mychael - PA
W4ULY - Jim - SC
N3AO - Carter - PA (Pat says Hi :)
AC7YH - Pat - WA (Howdy Pat! My WCN buddy )
N0TK - Daniel - CO
VE3XM - Bob - ON
NA7Y - Bill - WA (Thanks for the DX :)
WA0RSE - Paul - MN
N1SJ - Steve - CA
ZL1MH - Mike - NZ
There were some others but I could not drag them out of the mud. I am very sorry we could not get you folks checked in. Please try again once I get used to
this chaotic situation. I need to call a few more West Coast stations to act as relays for me because I cannot hear my next door neighbors. I am good into the
plains and up into Canada. The East Coast is good sometimes but fades during the net.
This is the largest number of check ins for ECN to date. Wow!
After we ran through the list once we had another round of calls for check ins. Then at 0223 I called the net free. Again chaos reigned. I think it is still going
on in the background :) I hope you all had as much fun as I did. I wish my CW skills were better but I guess this is one way to work on it!
If I missed you this week, my apologies. If we missed a comment or a request please check in again next week and we will try again. Propagation seemed
good to certain parts of the US but not so hot to others. If you want to act as a relay please jump in with a QSP, I am not proud :) I hope some of you got
states and serial number for your records or just had a plain old fashioned good time.

DE KD5ONS (Kevin. Net Control Operator 5th Class)
