Ron's comment about ops who could pick up the regular spacing for on air
QSO's after learning Farnsworth method kind of makes me suspect those who
could do that had a flair for rhythm, and those that had a problem did not,
or had the other hearing problems I have found among older hams locally who
are trying to upgrade from Tech to HF.   Some have tone loss hearing
deficits and slot loss in the spectrum at tones commonly used for code.
Some have a S/N problem with a constant QRM in their hearing, and commonly
use two hearing aids.  Not knowing how code sounds to them, I can only
imagine from their anguished accounts of trying to learn it how awful it
sounds, or what a struggle they are having.

I think I have observed those best with code also have an easy time with
foreign languages, and there may be a correlation there.
