Hi,

Don't discount the straight key right off!

Yes, absolutely learn to copy at 20 WPM. Sending is something of a different beast though. Absolutely learn to use paddles. But IMO learning to use a straight key really gives one a good feel for the characters. Or it can, anyway. So do learn to use one.
