[Elecraft] A to B upgrade - clarification

Thanks to those who have sent the information about the PLL alignment (N6KR 
method), I will certainly give it a try. When I first built the K2 I was 
able to get it pretty darn close with WWV.

However, my real concern is the BFO range discrepancy I am now getting. It 
is narrower that what is required in the book and it is also narrower than 
what I had recorded when I first built the rig. To reiterate, the range 
before the upgrade had been on the order of 4.2. So I know the diodes and 
crystals are in the right place. Now after the upgrade it's 2.78 and the 
recommended range is >= 3. I did change the location of the ground wires on 
the X3 and X4 crystals, from the top to the sides. Could I have screwed up 
the crystals? The upper range is about right (4917.96), but the lower range 
is a bit high (4915.18).

Any comments? Again, I ask that you respond direct as to my receiving this 
in digest mode.
