The Hakko 599B is neat - looks like the top of a modern trash bin with the
scrubbie inside !

Check eBay auction # 2568790866 for a spare Haako 907 iron (requires the 936
or 937 base) -

The straps and mats usually show up on sale in November and December from
many
suppliers (such as Future/Active last year) and very LOW prices (less than
$35 for mat at strap).
You may wish to check the catalogs and Internet web sites of suppliers the
second week of November.

Whenever you can find soldering stations tips for less than $5 is a time to
"stock up" on those
sizes or shapes (e.g. conical, chisel, bevel, pyramid) you may not use every
day.
