Tony,

I think you will find the K2 and its options quite adaptable to your needs -
you just have to determine what combination will suit you best.

All options are usable in a fully configured K2 except that the KAF2 and the
KDSP2 are mutually exclusive (they mount in the same place). The 100 watt
amplifier replaces the top cover of the K2 enclosure, so any options that
mount there for the QRP version cannot be used when the KPA100 cover is in
place.

Let's see if I can get the combinations correct:
Any K2 can install the KSB2, KNB2, 160 meter option, and either the KAF2 or
the KSDP2.
In addition, a QRP K2 can add the KAT2, internal battery option and the KIO2
inside the case top cover, and can use the KAT100 (external enclosure)
instead of the KAT2.
The K2/100 has the KIO2 option built-in.
Of course, and option that are external to the K2 (or K2/100) enclosure can
be added to the list, and if you desire a portable QRP package as well as
the 100 watt amplifier for fixed station use, you can mount the amplifier in
a separate enclosure (possibly with the KAT100) and enjoy the best of both
worlds.

Hope that helps and was not too confusing.

| I enjoyed an inspired meeting at our radio club last evening where Phil
| ZL3PAH gave a very polished presentation followed by a demo of his K2/100
| with ATU. We were all very impressed with the overall quality and
| performance of this fine rig and I for one will be getting one soon (I
hope).
|
| I have just one question at this stage, apart from the K2 itself, what are
| all the modules and options needed to have a comprehensive rig as I
believe
| some of the modules and options may double up on each other?
