[Elecraft] AM K2?

Since SSB with carrier is simply AM with only one sideband only by its
narrower RF bandwidth), you might try simply un-balancing the SSB module
carrier balance. That's how most SSB rigs in years past provided AM.
Someone listening to you on an AM receiver shouldn't hear the difference
between you and any other AM signal, if you inject enough carrier.
Of course, you must then de-rate the K2/100 to a maximum of 20 watts or =
so
RF output to keep from over-heating the PA stage. SSB has a very low =
"duty
cycle" compared to AM.

Subject: [Elecraft] AM K2?
Does anyone know if anyone has considered or even done an AM mode K2
(perhaps by an SSB module modification)?
Just curious if I would have need another rig to run AM when I get a K2.
