Hi Jay:

>"topside to topside".
You are precisely correct. It will nestle down against the IC on the main
PC board. But you may have to 'dink' with it just a bit to get it correctly
placed. It's a TIGHT fit between the main PC board and the inside of the
top cover once it's installed. And the warning about FLUSH CUTTING all
component leads is VERY IMPORTANT... there's essentially NO room left for
'flying leads' from the bottom of the PC board once the KXB30 is installed.
>Do I understand correctly that there are no standoffs or other devices to

>to maintain the proper orientation?
Correct. And this is not all that difficult. Once the KXB30 is 'situated'
the pots pretty well fall into place.
>Do the two rubber pads go on the bottom of the KXB30, ending up as an
>insulator between the KXB30 board and the inside of the KX1's top cover?
Correct. The important point is to ensure that you have NO component leads
extending from the KXB30 PC board PAST the thickness of the rubber pads...
this could result in shorts to the chassis.. BAD things can happen then.
