[Elecraft] Halloween Hamfest is history, and WAS A BLAST!

Well the Elecraft Display at St Louis' Halloween Hamfest 2003 was merely
great!

Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., 90% of the time we had no fewer
than four folks at the table and MANY times where all 4-5 of us 'helpers'
were busy fielding questions from VERY interested potential customers, and
current Elecraft owners (of which there were quite a number).

I want to first thank Bruce Bodine (KA0MLA, and also a K2 owner), for
inviting us to sponsor a table at the hamfest. We'd probably not have done
so without his urging. It's my understanding that we've been invited back
next year as well... we mustn't have been all bad.

I also want to thank for following Elecraft owners who helped out in many
ways during the hamfest:

   Tim Raymer KA0OUV
   Rod Koch WA9GQT
   Larry Naumann N0SA
   John Lonigro AA0VE

The KX1 generated by far the most interest of all the devices we showed
(K2, KAT100, KPA100, K1, KX1, and KRC2), with the K2 being only slightly
behind. Had we product available, we kinda estimated that we could have
probably sold 4-5 KX1's and 3-4 K2's, not to mention numerous accessories.
We gave out a BUNCH of flyers on each individual product and a load of
order blanks.

Bruce ensured that we had the table closest to the outside door, where we
managed to erect a 35' slip-up mast to hold an off-center-fed dipole (70 x
30') and used a SunnyDay-20 (20') slip-up fishing pole to support the far
end of the dipole. Note that ALL three ATU's (KAT2/KAT1/KXAT1) tuned the
dipole down to 1.3"1 or less on all bands on which it was tried (generally
40M thru 15M).

Eric - I'll ship back the banner on Monday. Do you want me to return the
undistributed info sheets and order blanks?

Lisa - Everyone was thrilled with their shirts.

Again, THANKS to all those who volunteered to help out at the Hamfest.
Without your assistance, it wouldn't have been nearly as much of a success.
