Hi,
Why not look at places like The Container Store chain for foam that is pre
cut into squares that are easily torn off to make the right sized
compartment for the rig in the middle of the foam block.

When we package industrial instrument electronics, we also use a felt pen to
outline any irregular shape in the foam and then use a sharp new Xacto blade
knife to cut our foam to fit.
