[Elecraft] SSB Unit and P1

Hi all,
  Well as a NY Jets fan I've found myself with a lot of time on my hands on
Sunday's.  I'm moving along with the KSB2 SSB adapter.  I've gotten to the
point where P1 is to be installed.  P1 is used to match the K2's inputs and
outputs to the mic you will be using.

Basically the manual says (if I'm reading it correctly) that you should
simply wire the posts on P1 to each other.  I was hoping someone could tell
me if I have this right as it would seem that this would be somewhat sloppy
(particularly the way I do things) and susceptible to shorts.

The manual does suggest using two pin shorting posts , like those used in
computers (don't have any of those though).  This would work in my case
because I'm using the Heil mic which Elecraft sells and the posts for the
Heil mic all are next to each other.  I'm not sure that it would be as easy
for other mics, though.

So if you could let me know if I have this right, and if you have any
alternative ideas, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
