[Elecraft] K2/100 with FM and DATA Modes

Is there any possibility of FM into the basic K2?  This mode is needed for 
the VHF Bands.

The question of which other equipment must be retained when converting to 
K2/100s would be greatly simplified, i.e. none!

With reference to the data modes, an 'Official' method of extracting a signal 
for data modes and inserting a data signal into the audio path from an 
external unit and a PTT line, preferably independent of the AF Gain and MIKE Gain 
settings.  Also, the rear panels of the K2/100 is beginning to become congested. 
 Is there any safe place to fit a data connector?
