Same here, Andy . . .
BTW, Bob and I have held some technical discussion and arrived at a meeting
of the minds - almost! Very interesting fellow and evidently knows his
business quite well. His design of the new Elecraft balun possesses some
unusual qualities that are not normally found in the typical 4:1 balun,
hence my initial questions and comments.

Hi, George.
Absolutely, that's what the List seems to be best at!
Exchange of ideas.
As for the balun, I think it is yet another thing in
their stable of products that allows the ham to JUST GET
(OUT AND GET) ON THE AIR! I think that's great. I spent
a few dollars on my KAT1 and didn't moan about the fact that
I didn't have a 50Z resonant antenna. It allowed me to
get on the air with the 35' piece of wire that I have, and
that I have zero prospects of improving upon because of
my location.
And that allowed me to work 101 DXCC countries on the K1.
:-)
So anyway, if the balun helps someone better match a compromise
antenna, I'm all for it.
Andy
